Merley Nature Group volunteers have been busy at the beginning of this month, with some tree saplings (home grown by a group participant) planted on the green in between Chichester Walk and Sopwith Crescent.
We also got the Tawny Owl box up in between Floral Farm and Brabazon Road. This was kindly donated by one of the group, which deserves a massive thank you. It's too late for the box to be occupied by owls this year, hopefully we will see success in the coming years. The box may yet have a 2022 occupant though, in the form of a Stock Dove or Jackdaw - time will tell. Also thank you to all that have given the relevant permissions to
access the land and carry out the activities.
